Applications

SolOptics has developed patented, groundbreaking applications in photovoltaics and concentrating solar thermal power (CSP) for the utility, commercial and residential markets. Each application provides cost-effective, scalable, highly efficient energy production. Components are made from readily available inexpensive materials (glass, polymers and metal—no mirrors) that are fast and easy to manufacture, ship and assemble. Additional value is found in reduced land/space requirements garnered from the small, streamlined footprint of the technologies as well as negligible water requirements for the CSP applications. Moreover, the applications are designed to be durable and safe and to require little maintenance. In addition to power production, these applications may be used for industrial steam generation, desalination, water purification, evaporation acceleration and weaponry.

How do we do it? At the heart of the SolOptics revolution is our proprietary light optimization and ray-tracing software, SolSystem™—internally developed, wholly owned and patented. SolSystem enables our technology team to identify and design ideal lens configurations and the systems that incorporate them. It also provides a critical bridge to affordable manufacturing by outputting the specific design details for each application. Together, these functions enable us to expedite innovation, reduce development costs and speed products to market—effectively leapfrogging the competition.
